The Social Center and Our Lady of Fatima Parish was initiated by the Parish Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Evora, and instigated by the Reverend Pastor, Francisco José Senra Coelho. Dynamic and always attentive to what is happening in the parish, he began to realize that despite the young families population being in the Parish, in some of its neighborhoods, the population was very old. He needed to to find solutions for very young people in need and or for people in older age.

The Parish Social Centre, started in 1993 the construction of a parish complex which includes, besides the construction of the Church and Parish House, a Day Centre Services, Home Support the Elderly and Youth Centre, latter being called the Association Juvenile Fourth Dimension.

In September 2001, with aim to improve services and the prospect of other Social answers, a new project was created to support families of Evora, the little shepherds of Fatima Community Center. We refer to the Social responses of nursery and kindergarten. This social institution Intended to insert these into a broader dynamism to support the family by introducing a service in the same complex Caritas to support those most vulnerable, the lack of resources, or other circumstances that create poverty.

The management has focused on the younger generation, trained and recognized training provided by University of Évora, has been part of the tables, many young graduates and they have built a path unanimously considered of great quality and is already reference in the city of Evora. The competence of licensed professional and pedagogical join the Auxiliary of Education with specific vocational technical training and the remaining employees to form among all, a truly united and dedicated team.

Currently the Social Center serves about 200 users divided by the most diverse social answers: Home Support - 42 users, Day Centre - 35 users, Nursery - 70 users and Kindergarten - 50 users.

The Social Centre has also been focusing on high quality service and recognition, which has had an impact on the Quality Management System that is being created through the guidelines of Social Security.
